Liberals - Creating Their Voting Base

I recently had occasion to read a very convincing article about the Democratic Party doing a very credible job of creating a permanent underclass of voters that will overwhelmingly help to keep them in power.  It has been quite evident in the past three years with the growth of the food stamp program, which has grown by over 50% from 30 million prior to the Obama Administration,  to over 46 million today.  As a percentage of Gross Domestic Product, entitlements have more than doubled the expense of the Defense Department by 9.7% to 4.5% of GDP according to the latest information from the Heritage Foundation.  This is a debt that is unsustainable.

Programs that were implemented decades ago with the claim that they would help the most people with the least cost have proven to be like most other federal programs and grown to unbelievable size and cost.  There are those would would argue that this was done on purpose, to create the underclass
so dependent on federal assistance, that they would never vote against those who were willing to sustain their way of life with little asked and much to receive.

We have now become nearly a 50-50 nation...those that have and those who have little.  That 50% of the voters who become terrified by the talk of "tax cuts" because they know that they would be the first affected.  We have nearly 50% of the nation that pays no income tax and even worse, receives money back in the form of Child Tax Credits and Earned Income Credits which is designed for the low income families with children.  We are fast approaching the tipping point where more people are receiving benefits and more people DO NOT pay taxes.

There is an old saying that goes something like..."Democracy is not freedom. Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to eat for lunch".   Freedom comes from certain rights that cannot be taken away even if by a vote of 99 to 1.  Voters and politicians must always remember this fact in spite of all efforts to chip away at the Constitution of the United States.

Right now, we are the lunch and we have already witnessed how the wolves will vote in mass.  They fail to realize however that once the sheep are gone there will be nothing else to eat and they will begin to eat one another.  That has already begun to manifest itself in the high crime and murder rates among the underclass groups created by the welfare state.

"The Constitution is not an instrument of the government to restrain the people.  It is an instrument of the people to restrain the government - lest it come to dominate our lives and interests".
